18: What a tough week - thank goodness it's over!

May 15, 2004

Happy late Mother's Day!  The picture to the right is my bald self riding the John Deere lawn mower at the McCoole's on Mother's Day.  I had headphones on and was listening to some classical music ... it was a welcome treat!

The week following treatment #4 was very rough.  I mentioned before that I felt sick when I left the clinic and that's not typical - it usually takes a day or two to catch up with you.  I had a sense it was going to be a bit rough and it ended up taking a good week to come back around.  I'm not sure why it was so different this time than last because I didn't feel even remotely ill after round #3.  I did, however, feel completely lethargic - like someone had unplugged me - but this time I have lots of energy now that I'm somewhat back to normal.

I would have expected my body to get used to the treatments but I suppose logically that no ones body can ever get used to poison being pumped into it on a regular basis.  Two more ... thank goodness!  Did I mention how much I hate chemo?

The boat's in and we've been out sailing a couple of times.  We are so lucky to be living on the seacoast of NH!  The weather has been just amazing.  I am truly blessed in life, regardless of this little venture.  Truly blessed.

The Relay for Life is next weekend and I'm so excited!!!  We have 11 people on our team and it looks like collectively we may reach our team fundraising goal of $2,500!  I'll post again after the event and include some pictures. :>)
