It is with a VERY heavy heart that I let you all know that Shannon, at such a young age, lost her battle with breast cancer the afternoon of Sunday, December 9, 2007.

Shannon will be missed by so many including fellow breast cancer survivors (yes, she was a survivor) who found her story on this website to be so witty, honest and inspirational.

Shannon's mother, Linda, contacted me to ask that I post this last chapter in Shannon's honor.  I do so with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face because I, among so many, will always feel blessed to have known Shannon ... she was a complete doll.

Her breast cancer story begins with the next chapter dated 9/13/06.  She wrote her last chapter on 11/13/07 ... she was too sick after that to keep writing.

Shannon was surrounded by her friends and family members and stayed strong - at least in courage - right up until the end.  She left this world full of love ... there's no better way.
