My name is Christa and I am 29.  On October 20, 2005 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I am starting chemo on January 19, 2006; this is what has happened so far.

9/12/05- I went for my yearly exam the nurse practitioner found a lump in my right breast.  She said is probably just a cyst, I’m only 29 you know.  However she referred me on to a surgeon just as a precaution. I didn’t tell anyone, it was really no big deal.

Mid September- I tried calling to make an appointment with the surgeon, a couple of times.  I got the answering service a few times, finally I got through.  When I got through the receptionist asked me how old I was because I sounded so young.  I’m only 29.
