February 24, 2008 - Two treatments down...four to go! I'm in count down mode and the closer it gets to ending chemo, the harder it is for me to remain patient! I tried not to look at the calendar for the date of my last treatment and I've waited as long as I could, but I took a peek and it looks like if everything continues to go well and on schedule, March 27 should be my last chemo treatment. I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I feel like I've been running a slow motion sprint and I'm trying not to run out of gas as I approach the finish line.
My treatment on Thursday, February 21, let me feeling pretty ill. This was a first. I can't even describe what was going on with me, but it was really weird.....I had no appetite....I could not sleep...didn't feel like doing much....I was just not in the best mood at all. The only thing that I continued to think about is the END of my treatments and in some way I felt better just because of that. I think I'm mildly obsessed.
It seems like after I wrote about having hot flashes, I stopped having them. Don't know what that was all about.
Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and encouragement. I don't know if I will ever be able to convey what this means to me, but I sincerely appreciate you. The sad thing about all of this, (if there is in fact anything sad about it all), is that although my journey will continue, this breast cancer story will be over soon and I'm gonna miss ya.....(sniff....sniff).
February 25, 2008 - The website conked out on me as I typed last night....forgot what I was gonna say. I did receive your emails.....if ever you can't get through, you can also email me directly at

March 9, 2008 - I am off to Round 6! I can't remember the last time I was so READY to get something over with....but I'm seeing the light! (I know I'm being repetitive, but ooooh weee!) Round 5 was pretty much the same story as the others.....low white AND red blood counts....more Neupogen and Procrit. Nothing new.
That's about it for now...I do have one observation. I've discovered that heat, a bald head and a wig are not compatible. About a week ago on a Saturday, it got pretty warm outside and the next thing I knew, my wig was wet and when I removed it, I could wipe sweat off of my head. (Ewe!) Yup...I'ma need some hair by summertime cause this was not good. A small fro, breathable wig, hairpiece, hat, scarf or something of that nature will do! This is gonna be interesting...
