8: Post Chemo #1 Update

Things have been going pretty well.  I have been feeling good, but a little tired.  Last weekend I averaged 12 hours of sleep a night plus naps.  I think Travis was happy about that, as he gets up at 2:30 every morning and is always tired.  On Wednesday I had a blood test, low white cell counts and anemic, but that is to be expected.  I have to be really careful of infection and watch for fevers.

1/26/06 (Grandma Q’s Birthday) Today Mom and I went to Winooski to Appearances to get a wig.  Peg measured my head and then we tried to match the color.  I found a color that is similar to mine, except the hi-lights look much better and are not all grown out.  I then tried on various styles of wigs to see what I would like.  The first one I tried, Mom said was too neat to be my hair.  Is she saying that mine in messy?  Finally I found one that is similar to mine so we ordered it.  It will be in next week.  After we went in to the hat and scarf room.  I tried on lots!! It really was a lot of fun.  We didn’t end up getting any this time, maybe when we go to pick up the wig.  They don’t look the same when I still have hair.

1/27/06 Finally Friday, it has been such a long week.  I just signed up the Relay for Life, walk for cancer at Middlebury College.  I have walked in it the past two years and am planning on it this year.  Look to your emails in the coming weeks for my donation email J This weekend I will be packing up once again to move.  I will be staying with Travis for a few weeks until the house we are moving into is ready for us.  On Tuesday I have another blood test and chemo on Wednesday.  Thanks for all the emails, they mean so much!
