9: Surprise 30th Birthday! |
|
1/27/06 So I left work today with a bunch of errands to do. Travis had a retirement party to go to. I told him I would go, but I wanted to go out to dinner before. We went to dinner at The Bridge in Addison. When we finished and got in the car, it was 8:15pm. I still had to change at his house. On the way he was complaining that I was driving too slow. I wondered what his hurry was. At the house, I changed my shirt and lay down on the bed, thinking I was tired and really didn’t want to go. Again he hurried me along and insisted on driving to Middlebury to the party. We got there around 9:00pm, only it wasn’t a retirement party it was a SURPRISE 30TH birthday party for me. My birthday is in March so you can imagine my surprise. Mom wanted it to actually be a surprise as well as have the party before I lost my hair. It was a great time! There was a ton of my family and friend, as well as friends from Bristol School where I work, and from St. Mary’s School where I use to work, and late night friends from the restaurant that I worked at before I got sick. Pam and Paul, my friends from college who live in NH even came! It was such a great time. There will be pictures coming soon!!
1/28/06 A group of us met for breakfast Saturday morning, some of us were moving pretty slow due to the fun of the night before. After breakfast we went to my Parent’s house where I opened all the wonderful cards and gifts. It was a wonderful “birthday” since I am scheduled for a 4-hour chemo treatment on my actual 30th birthday. Earlier that morning I had noticed a rash on my chest around the port site. I showed my Mom who had me call the oncologist. They recommended that I go to the hospital for blood work in case of an infection. We went, it is just a rash, thankfully.
1/31/06 I have a bad cold that began on Saturday, maybe too much fun at the party. I have a blood test today and chemo again tomorrow. Thanks again for all the emails of support, concern and prayers. I love you all. oxox
