I was in for surgery on the 4th at 11:30 and home be 5:00. Everything went well, so the doctor said. No pain on the side that had the expander replaced, literally not a bit. The other side, on the other hand, YOUCH!!! The doctor added 100 cc of saline to my left side while I was under. On one hand I was grateful that I wouldn’t have to endure anymore treatments on that side, yet he had only been adding about 40 cc per visit prior, at best, and the last injection was at the beginning of December, so the expender wasn’t used to expanding anymore, nor was my skin or my pectoral muscle. And when the pectoral is stretched, it pulls in the shoulder blade, so I’m hurting on my front and back. And that means that the other side has a lot of catching up to do. My other half (John) is going to be a very happy man when this is said and done. Dr. Chatson also cleaned up the two basal cells I had biopsied back in January.
I saw the doctor yesterday and he removed the stitches from basal cells. Pathology reports showed he got clean lines so that’s done with. My drain is not ready to be removed. It’s still putting out way too much fluid.
HOT FLASHES. OH-MY-GOD… I was getting night sweats prior to the surgery. I thought they were tough to deal with, but now they’re day and night. I’m too young for this. At first I thought it was post-surgical fever. In talking to different people, apparently it’s hot flashes. Oh well, it’s something every woman has to deal with, so as my boss says, “Man-up”. I’d like to see a man go through this crap.
I’ll be in touch soon…
