20: Finally, Implants
October 22, 2005

Today is October 22nd. On the 18th, I received my implants, finally. I truly didn’t think I’d ever get here, though there is still a chance that I could get another infection. In the matter of fact, my chances are greater since I’ve already had one, or two. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed and so is the doc. I saw him on the 20th and he decided not to remove the drains as he had first thought he would because the drains are producing too much fluid to do so. They’ll be removed on Monday. And on Thursday, he’ll remove my stitches. While I was under, he removed another basal cell (skin cancer).

We got the lab results back and he got it all so nothing to worry about. I can’t believe how much the sun is my enemy, and I love it so. I feel great. No shoulder or back pain like I had with my first two surgeries. This is actually a breeze, with the exception of the drains. The only pain I have is in my underarms where the drains are stitched. Two more days, can’t wait. I finished the antibiotics yesterday. I feel so good, we’re going out to dinner with some good friends tonight. Thank God for my support system.

I’ll be keeping you “abreast”, so till next time, throw a prayer my way to keep that dreaded infection away.
