I had my blood counts done today…..uh oh, it’s not looking good. My white counts have dropped to .9 (i.e.900 out of a normal 7000!) and the GR# isn’t even registering. It’s a big FAT ZERO! They told me I was highly susceptible to infection, that I should basically go home and lock myself in my house. Do not go out, stay away from crowds, don’t go shopping, or to the movies, etc. I decided not to go into work and went home. But of course, it was Tuesday, and that meant chorus rehearsal! So off I went to rehearsal!!! It’s hard to stay home when you aren’t feeling sick!
As I was driving to chorus, I subconsciously reached up and grabbed a little bit of hair -- not quite sure why I did this, except that maybe I knew it was time for it to start falling out. Well...it WAS!!! I had a clump of hair in my hand....yikes! The great fallout has begun! Of course, all night at chorus, I was going up to people and saying, "watch this" as I pulled out more hair. They kept telling me to stop it! I was having too much fun though. And over the next week, my hair continued to fall out more and more. I thought it would fall out faster....but it took a while. It wasn't until a week later that I needed to wear the wig in public.

I attended the Alexandria Harmonizers Show. This is a men's International championship chorus. FRED was the guest quartet. They were awesome! My hair was definitely getting thinner. This would be the last day I could go out public before wearing the wig.

Boy, a lot of hair came out last night and in the shower this morning. I'm really starting to look like a cancer patient.....the thinning hair is not attractive!!! Hair is getting everywhere, on my clothes, on my pillow (I've started sleeping with a towel on my pillow). My hands are covered in hair after every shower.....and I have to scrape hair out of the shower stall every morning. I am not amused!
