25: Chemo Treatment #4

December 16, 2003

I'll keep today's entry short. Chemo #4 was a success! My counts were fine, the insertion of the needle was a breeze, she got it on the first try! (same place as last time...side of my wrist). First saline, then pre-meds...gotta love the Ativan (NOT!!!) -- makes you sleepy!. Then the AC. I think I slept through her pushing the first syringe of AC - - oh well! Two more of those, and then she dripped the bag of Cytoxan. I was out of there in a little over two hours. Other than being tired from the Ativan, there's no nausea or other adverse affects. Let's hope this holds through the next two days...tomorrow especially, as I have THREE performances, two with my chorus and one at work. I'm finally done with these drugs. No more worry about AC leaking into my veins and eating my skin! :-). Taxol is next, and it will bring its own challenges, I'm certain.
