3/20/06 It has been a while since I have updated. The last A/C treatment was brutal. It took me about a week to recover, until I felt “normal” again. I was feeling better just in time for treatment #5, the taxol. I heard a lot about the Taxol, how there weren’t the same side effects as the A/C. There shouldn’t be any nausea or fatigue. I was told that there could be some allergic reactions that were rare but serious if they happened. I was given some steroids to take the night before the treatment. Of course I forgot until 3:30 am when Travis got up. I took the 5 pills then and went back to sleep.
Mom and I went to Costco before going to treatment. It was a really long day! We got there about 11:30 and left about 4:45. I had no allergic reactions, which was good. I got a little sleepy during the treatment, had a great sandwich and got a little bored. I took the next day off from work, just in case. However I felt great. I had no side effects! Woo Hoo, it was a breeze. Now I know I am probably speaking too soon and am going to pay the next time, but so far so good.
I had a great weekend. Friday night we rented movies, I was able to stay up and watch the whole movie, which hasn’t happened since treatment began. Travis got a new to him truck on Friday too so we went for a ride and brought the dog too. He really liked it. Saturday we went to visit his parents, and then went Burlington to the movies. We went to the mall too. Again we stayed up and watched TV on Saturday and I didn’t fall asleep. This is great!! Sunday we went to breakfast with Mom and Dad and Nortie and Beth. I am definitely enjoying feeling good. My next and 6th treatment is on March 29, which many of you know is my 30th birthday, what a way to celebrate. It will be again in the Middlebury office, which will be nice to not have to travel. I will update with some pictures soon, I’ll try to get some tomorrow night at spaghetti night. Oh, one last thing, my hair is starting to grow back. It’s very light and fuzzy and it may still fall out, but it is growing!! Thanks for the emails, good thoughts and support, I appreciate it all!
