3/29/06 Today is my 30th birthday as well as chemo #6. Travis went with me. He was pretty bored, but handled it well. He went out and got us lunch at Subway. We got home about 5 and I opened my presents then we played darts on my new dartboard that he gave me for my birthday. We ordered Chinese food for dinner. Travis fell asleep early and I watched TV. We had planned to go out to dinner and go to the movies on the weekend, as we were not sure how I was going to feel. Thankfully I felt great after the treatment.
The side effects are minimal, a few hot flashes and a little bit of tingling of my toes. It took me a few days of tingly toes to realize that it was a chemo side effect and not my shoes causing the tingling. I also had a little bone aching in my knees and hips. Nothing compared to the 1st four treatments and the three-day chemo hangovers.
4/8/06 I got up early and Travis drove me to Albany to catch my flight to Baltimore to go to two Red Sox games with Nikki and Becky and Nikki’s stepfather Arthur and his brother. The flight was great and I arrived in Baltimore in time for the rain. The game was rain delayed for an hour and a half; we made it through the first 4 innings and then went back to the hotel to warm up. We took a taxi down to the Inner Harbor for dinner too cold to walk. We had a great time and the food was good too.
4/9/06 We awoke to sunshine!! We walked down to the Inner Harbor for brunch and walked along the water before the game. The game was much more enjoyable in the Sunshine. The Red Sox won both games!! The trip home wasn’t so smooth, with several delays I arrived home about 12:30am. The trip was so much fun it was worth it. I have pictures to add soon!

4/12/06 Chemo #7 today. My friend Christie from school brought me and hung out for a while. I got really tired this time and after Christie left I slept for about an hour until my mom came. This was the first time I slept during chemo. Dr. Unger said my hair should start to grow back anytime. I am hoping for that! I’ve started to go without hats during the days, as it is getting warmer. I still need to wear them outside, as I don’t want to get sunburn on my head.
Thanks for the donations for the Relay for Life, I appreciate them so much.
