2. Feeling Sick

Hey Everyone welcome to the beginning of my breast cancer story.
Just to let you know a bit about me I have a wonderfull husband Scott and four kids of my own Arron 21, Sarah 19, Harry 14 & Laura 12 plus my hubbys three Mark 25, Steve 21 & Laura 16.

I work as a registered nurse in anaesthetics and in triage nursing. As this is a US site I thought I would mention that I am an Aussie (Oi Oi Oi) and proud of it. So to get on with the story.

Since I came back from our sailing holiday in darwin July 2005, I found, that I was not my usual self. The holiday sailing in the World Tasar Tittles was fantastic. So I should have been on top of the world.

But alas I wasnt, I was feeling unwell and lots of blood tests to find out why I was so tired and run down, I even went off my current medications for meanopause & depression to grasp a solution. The GP concluded that I'd had a virus and that I now had "post viral syndrome" Nothing seemed to help just tired and sick all the time.
Some time in November 2005 I noticed that my left armpit was swollen/puffy, it was also sore to touch and it felt like I had a lump under it but you couldnt feel anything in the armpit it self.

My GP told me it was probably just the "post viral syndrome and it would go away eventually he sent me for an ultrasound, I left the GP's room's feeling annoyed thinking to myself "I wish there was a blood test for cancer this just doesnt feel right" (dont be stupid girl) "just stop being a paranoid nurse and dont worry" I didnt get the ultrasound as it would have cost too much & the GP didnt think it would produce any significant results.
