Reversal of the ostomy bag....

So, yeah, my life was getting back to normal. Summer vacation was here. I felt like a terrible mom, cause I didn't want to do ANYTHING. Rhiannon wanted me to play outside with her and I just didn't have the energy to do it.  I did put up a pool for her, tho and she had fun in that. She learned to swim pretty well this summer. I am very proud of her for that too. She has accomplished so much this summer....

We went camping for a week with the kids and that was pretty fun. It was pretty hot that week tho and we didn't have air in the camper, just a big industrial fan that when turned on would blow you to the back of the camper..... We took the kids swimming and Rhiannon learned to ride her bike with NO training wheels that week, very cool...She kept us busy that week, but I was busy anyway with doctors appointments, then I was scheduled for jury duty that week. Luckily all I had to do was call in and didn't have to go in at all.

I was told that my colon was healed well enough that they could do the reversal surgery.... thank goodness, the time couldn't come any sooner....It was scheduled for Aug. 16th 2006.  I had a family reunion the first weekend in Aug. and we always camp at my brothers beautiful place.....22 acres of beauty.. that is where we hold the reunions every year..... then the following weekend, 12th my daughter turned 7 and had a little get together for her. She went up north to my mother-in-laws house for a week while I was in the hospital. The surgeon said to count on 3-10 days in recovery.... My surgery went very well and was able to go home by Sat. (the surgery was on a Wed.) then the day after coming home, we went to my brother's place again for another reunion... I was feeling pretty good.

I feel that I am on the road to recovery now. I feel great. My incision is healing well. Actually it has a little bit of infection, but the doc put me on an antibiotic and should heal it pretty well. I go for my next check-up in two weeks.....
