21. Portocath 6/10/2006

6/10/2006
I saw Specialist Vascular Surgeon who will be putting in an Portacath. Have to have a general anaesthetic for this. This will enable me to have my next round of chemo.
Well had the portacath put in today
The port is under the skin just below my right collar bone and the catheter goes under the skin over my collar bone and into a big vein in my chest.
The surgery was day surgery only at the hospital by 9am and home by 3pm very tired & a little sore but didnt need any pain relief. Im not trying to be brave of course - just didnt need it at all.
However the next few days have been very slow - feeling extremely exhausted and not much good for any one - started to pick up about tuesday 10/10/06.
