Today was the day for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Nashua. I wasn’t feeling up to walking it- as I hadn’t been awake for this long during the day- or on my feet- so I opted to get pushed in a wheelchair by a handsome young man (who you ask? Well Todd of course!). Again- floored by the amount of people that showed up to walk and/or show us support by visiting! We got a few group shots in in our official Shannon’s Team shirts before heading off for the walk. Todd pushed me the whole way and did great with the landscape obstacles! A little bumpy- but all-in-all he did what I would call a “SHAN-tastic” job!
It was a great fall day. The weather cooperated and everyone seemed to get out in the great weather! There were a ton of people- all with great smiles on their face. It was great to be a part of the walk- and we will definitely be attending for years to come.
I also got to meet Jennifer – whose story is also included on this website. It pleased me to be able to meet her face to face and see her gorgeous smile and share a warm hug.
The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging on one couch- and Jessica on the other- watching movies.
It was a great day!
Thank you to everyone who walked and donated! Shannon’s Team was able to raise over $3700! Yes- that’s right - $3700!!! Thank you to everyone from the bottom of my heart for donating! Large and small- your donations added up and I am so proud of our team! This will help put us one step closer to a cure or better treatments for the large number of women who will get diagnosed in the upcoming year(s). It will also help young breast cancer patients like myself- who have a larger risk of re-occurance.
So thank you from me… and all of those affected by this cancer!
