As many of you know- Thanksgiving is VASTLY approaching. I have my fourth and final AC treatment on the 21st - which falls 2 days before Thanksgiving. I will not be up and ready for all the food this wonderful holiday has to offer- but hope to work around that some and enjoy the holiday with my family before and after the date.
After having something like cancer affect me, and see its affect on my family and friends- it makes me look closer at my life and what I really hold dear to me. That of course is not only the health and well being of myself- but those close to me. Todd must wear his seatbelt before leaving the driveway- or a techvest when he rides his snowmobile. Call it what you will- I call it love. He is aware of how much I need him in my life- and can't take the small things for granted. This has made me realize just how important my family is to me and spending time with them when I can is most important. For the holidays or a baby shower we just recently attended, or just quick emails to see how their day has gone, these are all things I've taken for granted in the past.
I received an email tonight from someone in my graduating High School class- the class of 1996. He wanted to check in with me to see if i'd be attending our 10th year reunion this month. I unfortunately had to decline- because it is being held at a time that i will be still on anti-nauseau meds and will not be in a good frame of mind or at the healthiest I could be.
I wish all the best to those attending and hope to see some pictures on their website after the festivies!
I hope to start Taxol as planned on the 5th of December- and finish up the last 4 rounds of chemo and be finished by the end of January.
I can't wait for the snow to start flying- and to be back on my snowmobile - enjoying the things that Todd and I love to do most- playing in the snow :)!
