This chapter is dedicated to my loving husband Todd!
Some people wait years
Some people wait a lifetime
I found someone so dear
And has become my close lifeline
What started out as a crush
Which has only grown thru time
I've found what people look for
Right here- right now- my sunshine
We talked about being together
It was easier said then done
I took one ride on your snowmobile
And knew you were the one
On the beach in Rye I said
"I'm about to burst"
Then you leaned in and kissed me
This was the best kiss, the first
Everyday then I'd ask you
"Will you Marry Me?" I'd say
In response you'd always reply
"When we Grow up... some day"
Then that day came around
Where in Rye with warm embrace
You proposed with a ring
And brought tears of joy to my face
No groom was more handsome
No happier of a wife
Where on October 6th we married
And together joined our lives
This past year was our anniversary
We've been wed five solid years
There were good times and bad times
And definately some tears
What could break a couple
Has only made us stronger
Thinking of our lives together
With this cancer being no longer
What does the future hold for us
Is a question I often ask
But to live for today and not tomorrow
Often seems too large a task
No man could be more selfless
No man could take more pride
In being a husband of a woman
Who sometimes feels she has to hide
You tell me to hold my head up
You take away my fears
You make me feel so confident
When hope seems to disappear
How did I get so lucky?
How could I be so blessed?
To have a strong man like you
Who could never be any less
You've made me a better person
I've learned so much from you
To stand strong and unfaltered
When all else comes unglued
Since we made that first kiss in Rye
Nine years is where we stand
Happy 9 year Anniversary
To my love, my hero, my husband
